Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers, Inc. has joined thousands of groups, organizations and individuals that have adopted a highway in the state of Pennsylvania. The company adopted the Rt. 81 & Rt. 322 Interchange in Harrisburg. Adopt-A-Highway is a two-year commitment, with participants agreeing to a minimum of four pickups per year.
"Community service is important to Navarro & Wright and its employees. Over 20 employees offered their time to participate in helping to clean up the Rt. 81 & Rt. 322 Interchange," says Paul Navarro, President. "Although we as a company participate in many philanthropic events, Adopt-A-Highway is special because not only is it beneficial to the community, it's giving back to the industry we work in."
The first pick up will coincide with Earth Day, April 24, 2010 as part of the Great Pennsylvania Cleanup where local government leaders, business and trade organizations, community groups and ordinary citizens join forces to organize and conduct cleanups in community parks, along roads and streams and in vacant lots. Over 500 groups registered on the DEP website, and several thousand of PennDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway groups turn out to clean thousands of miles of state highways.
Navarro & Wright believes in supporting humanitarian causes. The company donates both time and money to local charities such as United Way, Toys for Tots, American Heart Association and American Cancer Society and local food banks.
