9/29/2014- N&W Announces New Maryland Office Staff

     N&W recently opened its new Sparks, Maryland office in the greater Baltimore area and is pleased to announce the hiring of two key staff members for that office.  

     Mr. Alec Grkovic, Prof. L.S., joins the firm as Chief of Surveys – Maryland and will be based in the Sparks, Maryland office. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1997 from the University of Belgrade, School of Civil Engineering, Department of Geodesy with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geodesy/Land Surveying.  In 2008, he obtained a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management from the University of London, Royal Holloway College.    
     Alec has over seventeen (17) years of surveying experience in diversified industry sectors (Engineering, Heavy Civil Construction, Land Development and Residential Construction, Transportation, Commercial/Institutional Construction, Environmental) with an in-depth knowledge of survey standards including DOT standards, BLM cadastral surveying, NGS monumentation standards, FGCD standards, NOAA high precision network procedures, FEMA surveying standards, FAA standards, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers survey and CADD standards.  Alec offers N&W’s clients high-end surveying technology expertise including GNSS, robotics, laser scanning, point cloud technology, construction machine control, remote sensing, and geomagnetic surveys.
     He is a Professional Licensed Surveyor in Maryland, Delaware and Washington DC.  He is a member of ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers), DAS (Delaware Association of Surveyors) Board of Directors – Kent County Director (2011),  IACES (International Association of Civil Eng. Students) – L.C. Belgrade Vice-President (1994-96).  Prior to joining N&W he worked for American Infrastructure in Fallston, MD.

      Mr. Jeffrey Broczkowski, P.E., joins N&W as Water Resources Project Engineer and will also be based in  the Sparks, Maryland office.  He graduated in 1975 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in civil engineering.      
     Jeffrey has over thirty-nine (39) years experience in water resources engineering, project management and the design of stormwater management facilities for large and small-scale  projects for both public and private sector clients. His experience includes hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, scour analysis, erosion and sediment control design, floodplain studies, water quality retrofitting, storm/culvert analysis and design, SWM facility construction, and application and implementation of best management practices (BMPs).
     He is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers,  American Society of Highway Engineers, and Maryland Association of Floodplain Managers.  Prior to joining N&W he worked for RJM Engineering, Inc.
