Navarro & Wright was a proud participant during National Engineers Week in February. National Engineers Week is a time to:
- Celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world
- Increase public dialogue about the need for engineers
- Bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents
N&W participated during the week advocating engineering services by displaying our company trade show booth at the Colonial Park Mall in Harrisburg, PA. We also attended the
National Engineers Week Banquet hosted by The Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council which was held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the West Shore Country Club, Camp Hill, PA, which honored local engineers as well as sponsoring the Engineers Week insert in the Harrisburg, PA Patriot News. In the United States, the third full week of February is designated National Engineers Week. It is observed by more than 70 engineering, education, and cultural societies, and more than 50 corporations and government agencies. The purpose of National Engineers Week is to call attention to the contributions to society that engineers make. It is also a time for engineers to emphasize the importance of learning math, science, and technical skills.
The celebration of National Engineers Week was started in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers in conjunction with President George Washington‘s birthday. President Washington is considered by some as the nation’s first engineer, notably for his survey work.
